The Runners’ Coffee Club
Our passion for coffee (or any drink!) and keeping fit brings us together for a run and chat weekly
Keeping the body moving outdoors is a great way to stay active and escape from the real world. However, doing it with a group of motivated people who help each other along is far more enjoyable and rewarding.
In this project, we create friendship and camaraderie by meeting early mornings to perform a group activity such as a light jog, run or group fitness session. The group together decides on days to meet and the activities to do. This creates an enjoyable, flexible environment that works for everyone so that we stay committed and push each other along.
Feeling good, what better way to finish off a workout than a chat over coffee! Connecting with friends is a great way to ‘check in’ on our overall health and wellbeing. It is an opportunity to discuss progress, get some health coaching advise and talk about life in general, all over our love for coffee.

Non-Toxic Neighbourhoods

In 2015 glyphosate (pesticide) was classified as a “probable carcinogen to humans” by the World Health Organisation’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) because of its strong association with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is also on a list of known carcinogens in the state of California.
Belgium, Malta, The Netherlands and Argentina have banned or restricted the use of glyphosate. In Argentina, 30,000 doctors demanded the prohibition of glyphosate because it is associated with cancer, birth defects, skin diseases, respiratory illnesses and neurological disease. In November 2017 Emmanuel Macron announced France will issue an outright ban within the next three years.
The need to protect our community from the associated health risks is urgent. Together we must all do our part to remove the use of toxic chemicals in our foods, schools, parks and public spaces.
