Can you identify any of these ingredients in this product?

When the first ingredient is sugar, that should already raise alarm bells. However this product contains synthetic chemicals that may be harmful to your health. Food acids are added to foods as an acidity regulator and flavouring agent, while food dyes (colours) are used as colouring to enhance appearance.

In this case, the food acids, colours and flavours (this could one anything!) are all non-natural, synthetic chemicals. From a nutrition stand point they do absolutely nothing. Food dyes have been linked to adverse neurobehavioral outcomes in children including inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and restlessness. Animal studies also revealed effects on activity, memory, and learning

Within the European Union, foods containing colours 122, 129 (in this jelly) are now labelled with a mandatory warning: "May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children."

In Australia, the supermarket chain Aldi has removed these six colours from its own-brand products, as well as eight more colours: amaranth purple (123), erythrosine cherry red (127), indigo blue (132), brilliant blue (133), green (142, 143), black (151) and brown (155).

Thank you to @yagizadal for sharing this with our community. Timely reminder to also be sure to check used by dates at the supermarket and at home regularly :)

Healthful tip: Look for alternative products with no or fewer listed chemicals as possible.
